WITS FRESHERS 2012

The wits freshers went down this past friday (2march 2012) and apart form the occasional hiccups(like people shoving and pushing each other in the alcohol sale lines to make sure they get their fix for the night) the event was a overall sucess. The event featured a number of artists and media personalities such as micasa, dj tira, dj franky, scoop, character, proffesor, and AKA.

The event took place at wits university west campus at the chamber of mines and we were there to capture a few pics of the night

Dr Don Matera opened up the night with a peom followed by a performance by Thandiswa mazwai and Zwai Bala. Tuks and the Mzansi Youth Choir then followed with an amazing performance combining hip hop and some traditional sounds.
The event was hosed by Jeannied D and Bridget Masing. They looked absolutely fabulous and were definately representing for the sisters in honour of international women’s month.
People presenting awards included Thuli Thabethe, Riaan Venter, Carly Fields, Latoya Mongezi,  Shona Ferguson, Maggie Bennedict(Akhona-generations) and Jerry Phele with Jabu nkosi  who brought the house down with laughter emzinin wezinsizwa style.
Intersexions dominated the night winning most of the awards they were nominated for and other winners included Ga Re Dumeli, Isidingo,Rhythm City and Roepman. Khuli Chana also brought the house down with his show stopping closing performance and the event came to an end.
